Before diving into the resources, take a moment to pause and reflect on where you are in your right now. Here are three questions to help you think deeply about your transition:

  1. What story am I telling myself about being let go?
    Often, the narratives we create around job loss can hold us back. Is your story empowering or limiting?

  2. What have I learned from this experience that I can carry forward?
    Even in difficult moments, there are lessons to be found. What has this experience taught you about your needs, values, and desires?

  3. If I could create any career path from scratch, what would it look like?
    Imagine a blank slate. What would you build if there were no limitations?

When you put pen to paper or fingertips to keys, something shifts. Writing out your thoughts is more than an exercise—it’s a powerful tool for clarity, self-awareness, and growth. It slows the chaos of your mind, giving your ideas and emotions the space to breathe.

Research shows that writing by hand creates stronger neural connections in your brain, helping you process emotions, clarify thoughts, and solidify learning in ways typing simply can’t. 

 

Writing forces you to define what’s swirling around inside: the fears that hold you back, the dreams you’re afraid to speak aloud, and the patterns you’ve been stuck in. It’s a moment of honesty with yourself, a chance to name what matters and what no longer serves you. It’s not about being perfect—it’s about being real. And when you see your own words staring back at you, you begin to uncover your truth.
